We have learned with deep sorrow of the passing of Prof. Dr. Abdullah Emin Akay, a faculty member of the Faculty of Forestry at Bursa Technical University.

Prof. Dr. Abdullah Emin Akay was a distinguished academic who made significant scientific contributions to forestry in our country and was internationally recognized for his high-quality scholarly work, particularly in the fields of forest engineering, forest roads, mechanization in forestry, and planning. He was ranked among the top 2% of scientists worldwide in his field. Throughout his academic career, he taught numerous undergraduate and graduate courses, supervised many master’s and doctoral theses, and produced lasting contributions to the literature through his scientific articles, conference papers, and research projects published in national and international peer-reviewed journals. During his tenure at the Faculty of Forestry at Bursa Technical University, he earned the respect of both students and colleagues through his scientific productivity, strong commitment to academic discipline, and dedicated approach to student training.
