
Academic Visit from Georgia to Faculty of Forestry and Collaboration Meeting
Prof. Dr. Medea Burjanadze, a faculty member from the Georgian Technical University, paid an academic visit to our Faculty of Forestry. During the visit, Prof. Dr. Burjanadze met with the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yavuz, and received information about the educational and research activities of our faculty.
During the meeting, potential academic collaborations between the Faculty of Forestry at Artvin Çoruh University and the Department of Forestry at the Georgian Agricultural University were discussed. The discussions focused on opportunities for joint research projects in forestry, student and academic staff exchange programs, collaborative field studies, and the organization of joint scientific events.
As part of the visit, Prof. Dr. Burjanadze also met with faculty members and exchanged ideas on regional forestry challenges, forest ecosystems in the Black Sea region, and sustainable forest management.
In addition, during her visit, Prof. Dr. Medea Burjanadze will collaborate with Prof. Dr. Temel Göktürk on a study focusing on the use of pheromone traps for monitoring insect pests in blueberry production areas in Georgia.
This visit is expected to contribute to strengthening academic cooperation between Türkiye and Georgia in the fields of forestry and natural resource management, and to foster the development of joint scientific studies.
