At the camp, which included Climate Ambassador Didem ERGÜN, a student of AÇÜ’s Faculty of Forestry, young people from all over Türkiye came together to raise awareness about combating climate change and to be encouraged to take the lead in local and national climate actions.
The four-day training camp, which was also attended by Deputy President of the Climate Change Directorate Orhan SOLAK, aimed to encourage young people to take an active role in Türkiye’s fight against climate change. During the camp, participants had the opportunity to develop sustainable solutions and engage in decision-making processes. In addition, recent developments related to climate change were shared with the attendees.
As part of the camp, organized in cooperation with the Climate Change Directorate and UNICEF, capacity-building trainings were provided on topics such as the scientific foundations of climate change, adaptation policies, negotiations, the climate law, carbon pricing, and green finance. Through these trainings, participating youth enhanced their knowledge and skills on climate policies, gaining the capacity to carry out more effective initiatives at the local level.
