Butko Olive Saplings Were Planted in Artvin on World Forestry Day

Under the coordination of the Artvin Governorship and the organization of the Artvin Regional Directorate of Forestry, a meaningful event was held as part of the March 21 International Day of Forests and Forest Week. Acting Rector of Artvin Çoruh University, Prof. Dr. Fikret Sözbilir, and the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yavuz, attended the event.

As part of the activity, second-year students from the Faculty of Forestry planted Butko-type olive saplings in the Zeytinlik Village area of Artvin. The event aimed to contribute to nature and raise awareness of sustainable forestry. Students had the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in the field while also taking on an important responsibility as environmentally conscious individuals.

During the planting activities, students were informed about proper planting techniques under the guidance of expert staff, while also experiencing hands-on learning in close contact with nature. The event contributed to enhancing the professional awareness of young forestry candidates and strengthening their appreciation for nature.

It was emphasized that such practical activities carried out within the scope of World Forestry Day and Forest Week make significant contributions to raising environmental awareness in society and leaving a more livable environment for future generations.
