Forest Engineering Department organized an orientation program for first-year students on October 4-5. The program, which lasted for two days, began with a visit to the Seyitler campus, where the Faculty of Forestry is located. During the first day, students were given a tour of the academic and administrative units on the Seyitler campus, and general information was provided along with introductions. The department chair provided general information about the Forest Engineering Department and student counseling. Additionally, students were briefed on the city of Artvin and the social and cultural opportunities available in the city through our university. The tour continued in the Faculty of Forestry building, where students visited classrooms, lecture halls, student laboratories, and departmental laboratories. They also had the opportunity to explore the Forest Practices and Research Center greenhouse and the Artvin Çoruh University Herbarium, both located on the Seyitler campus. Furthermore, students were introduced to the amenities within the social facility building, including the cafeteria, dining hall, bowling alley, fitness centers, and both indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Detailed information about their usage was provided.
On the second day of the orientation program, information was provided about the academic and administrative units located on the city campus. Students received support from relevant departments to visit the Ali Nihat Gökyiğit Congress and Culture Center as well as the Artvin Çoruh University Library. Additionally, students were given information about the cafeterias, dining halls, social facilities, and the planetarium located on the campus. Continuing with the program on the same day, students visited the Artvin Çoruh University Ali Nihat Gökyiğit Botanical Garden.
