Important Visit within the Scope of FSC Certification at Our Faculty of Forestry

The Faculty of Forestry at Artvin Çoruh University hosted representatives of FSC Türkiye within the scope of the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Forest Management Certification process carried out by the Artvin Regional Directorate of Forestry.

As part of the visit, Dean Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yavuz and Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Funda Erşen Bak shared information on the academic and institutional collaborations conducted between the Faculty of Forestry and the Artvin Regional Directorate of Forestry, one of the faculty’s key external stakeholders. The delegation included FSC FM Lead Auditor Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sıvacıoğlu, Lead Auditor of Assurance Services International (ASI) Dr. Nikolai Tochilov, and interpreter Aşiyan Süleymanoğlu.

During the meeting, the current status of forestry in the Artvin region, sustainable forest management practices, and forest certification processes were discussed, and a productive exchange of views was held.
