Visit to the Biological Control Laboratory of the Artvin Regional Directorate of Forestry

Second- and third-year students of the Department of Forest Engineering at Artvin Çoruh University Faculty of Forestry visited the Biological Control Laboratory of the Artvin Regional Directorate of Forestry as part of the Entomology and Forest Pest Management courses, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Temel Göktürk and Research Assistant Nefise Demir.

During the program, hosted by Tekin Işık, Deputy Regional Director of Forestry of Artvin, Mutlu Özdemir, Head of the Forest Pest Management Department, and Tuncay Bilmiş, Director of the Artvin Forest Enterprise, students were informed about biological control practices, the production of beneficial insects, and integrated pest management strategies.

As part of the visit, mechanical, biotechnical, and biological control methods were also discussed and evaluated. The program concluded with a question-and-answer session and an exchange of ideas between the students and the experts.
