Applied Field Training in Şavşat for Forestry Engineering Students

An applied field study was conducted in the Şavşat district of Artvin with our 3rd-year students from the Department of Forestry Engineering. Within the scope of the training, students had the opportunity to carry out field applications related to forest management, yield management, dendrometry, ecology, and silviculture courses.

During the fieldwork, a “future tree selection” competition was also organized in a designated sample plot within a Scots pine stand, helping students reinforce their professional knowledge and skills. The activity, which was both educational and enjoyable, enabled students to combine their theoretical knowledge with practical experience.

The field program was attended by Prof. Dr. Sinan Güner, Prof. Dr. Aydın Tüfekçioğlu, Prof. Dr. Hacı Ahmet Yolasığmaz, Prof. Dr. Melahat Özcan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Şahin, Dr. Mustafa Acar, Research Assistant Oğuzhan Bilgili, and Research Assistant Ahmet Mete Çakmak.

The field training, which was highly productive and enjoyable, made significant contributions to the professional development of the students.
