As Artvin Çoruh University Faculty of Forestry, Department of Forest Engineering, within the scope of Forest Yields, Geographical Information Systems, Forestry Operations and Logging and Forest Entomology courses, we carried out a technical examination and field application with our 2nd (Sophomore) and 3rd (Junior) year students in order to see the unusual winter cuts due to the spruce bark beetle outbreak.within borders of Velikoy and Karagol Forest Management Units in the Artvin Şavşat Forest Enterprise . The students  examined the magnitude and damage of the spruce bark beetle outbreak on the site and learned how to remove the invested trees from the site to reduce the beetle damage.
