Within the scope of the “Narko Guide and Narko Youth” project carried out by the Artvin Provincial Police Department, an information session on combating substance addiction was held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Artvin Çoruh University Faculty of Forestry, A-22 Conference Hall. Approximately 130 participants, including academics and students, attended the training.

The session was delivered by police officers Mevlüt Karaca and Yasin Demir from the Artvin Provincial Police Department. The training covered, in detail, topics such as Awareness in Combating Substance Addiction, Risk Factors Among Youth, Community and Family-Based Protective Approaches, Introduction to the Narko Guide and Narko Youth Modules, Preventive Practices, and Proper Guidance.

Participants had the opportunity to ask questions about addiction and receive comprehensive explanations from the experts. Practical recommendations were presented on steps that can be taken to prevent addiction, how individuals—particularly young people—can protect themselves, and how to increase public awareness. The police officers emphasized that raising conscious and well-informed generations is crucial for protecting public health, and highlighted the importance of everyone fulfilling their respective responsibilities in this area.

At the end of the event, certificates of appreciation were presented to police officers Mevlüt Karaca and Yasin Demir by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yavuz, Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, and Dr. Volkan Özcan, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, in recognition of their contributions. The training concluded with a group photo.
