As part of the National Afforestation Day celebrated on November 11 under the theme “Our Witness is the Soil, Our Signature is the Sapling, Our Passion is the Green Homeland,” a large-scale sapling planting event was held in the Seyitler area, hosted by the Artvin Regional Directorate of Forestry.

The event was attended by Artvin Governor Dr. Turan Ergün, Member of Parliament for Artvin Faruk Çelik, Mayor of Artvin Bilgehan Erdem, local administrative officials, Artvin Çoruh University Vice Rector Sibel Açışlı Çelik, the deans and academic staff of our university’s faculties, students, representatives of public institutions, and many citizens.

Accompanied by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yavuz, Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Prof. Dr. Sinan Güner from the Department of Silviculture, and other faculty members, our forestry students took an active role in the event by planting hundreds of saplings. Participants once again demonstrated their love for nature and commitment to environmental awareness through this meaningful activity aimed at leaving a green legacy for future generations.
