Visit to the Faculty of Forestry by Little Nature Explorers
As part of the project “Green Homeland – My School as a Solution for the Future” implemented by the Ministry of National Education, we welcomed our little guests from Artvin Zübeyde Hanım Kindergarten to the Seyitler Campus. A total of 31 children, aged between 3 and 5, had the opportunity to experience the plant diversity and natural beauty of autumn on our campus by observing, touching, and collecting leaves and fruits. During the trip, specially prepared magnifiers and leaf identification guides allowed the children to explore and investigate nature on their own. Preschool teachers Aslıhan DOĞULU ÜLKER and Menekşe AKTAŞ also helped strengthen the children’s connection with nature through fun, music-filled games.
In this meaningful nature trip, the children also toured the greenhouses under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Mehmet ÖZALP and Lecturer Caner SATIRAL from the Department of Forest Engineering, where they learned how plants are propagated. Finally, our little explorers visited the Wildlife Museum within our Faculty, where they observed the animals and received information from Lecturer Dr. Gökçe Ali KELEŞ. The children’s excitement and their amazement while examining the taxidermied animals were truly delightful to see.
Artvin Çoruh University Faculty of Forestry Dean Prof. Dr. Mehmet YAVUZ, Provincial Director of National Education Fahri ACAR, and Zübeyde Hanım Kindergarten Principal Emel ALTUNTAŞ also joined the event, sharing in the children’s enthusiasm and accompanying them on their explorations.
